Environmental Impact

Just Life Group is constantly working to minimise its impact on the environment.

We continue to explore new ways to reduce our impact on the environment.

In 2019 we stopped selling plastic cups entirely and began offering biodegradable and compostable cups. This dramatically reduced the amount of plastic waste generated by our operations.

Inspired by that success, we have developed a comprehensive environmental impact reduction programme called Environment Plus.

Environment Plus programme

We invited our Just Life team members across New Zealand to submit ideas for ways we could work together to achieve our environmental goals, and we were encouraged by the many excellent initiatives submitted. Ideas to reduce our carbon footprint included fresh and innovative approaches to office management, transport, electricity, communication, recycling, sales, and community involvement.

We are continually evolving the application of these ideas to ensure they underpin our environmental objectives going forward.

Environmental Management Policy Statement

At Just Life Group we take our commitment to sustainability and the environment very seriously.  We consider our operations sustainable when they are socially safe and responsible, environmentally sound and economically viable.

As part of our mission to reduce our carbon footprint, Environment Plus focuses on the 3R rule – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Our unconditional policy is to Refill, not Landfill.

Just Life Group has systems in place to manage our environmental impact – reducing, reusing and recycling where possible. These are integrated into our everyday business through management and reporting, and our responsible commercial business practice.

Managing our operational waste

The main waste produced by our offices, call centres, and service and delivery operations is paper, toner cartridges, packaging material and IT equipment.

As part of our commitment to reduce, reuse and recycle wherever possible, we provide recycling points in our offices to encourage employees to recycle, and we promote double-sided printing to save paper.

Our Environment Plus programme continues to evolve, expand and extend throughout our operations.
